Alex, Dylan, and I were on our way back from Weehawken when we decided to avoid the traffic on Route 80 by cutting through Boonton. I was feeling kinda hungry and saw that we were passing Juniors. Juniors is probably one of my more beloved pizza places to stop at. They’re open until 3am (delivery too) and they put up with the late-night drunken shenanigans my friends and I have put them through for years. Plus they have awesome gyros (I believe it’s Egyptian owned) and froyo.
However, we came her for the pizza. They don’t have the craziest of slice choices. Just your typical plain, pepperoni, buffalo chicken/bbq chicken, and a few others. The bright pink look of the BBQ chicken was appealing to me so I got a slice and also one plain. We took a seat and waited for it and when it came out it looked like perfection. The plain slice I got was huge. The cheese didn’t fall right off and there was just the right amount of sauce. I spilled garlic powder on it by accident (rookie mistake) but it did not hinder the taste of the slice. The crust was baked to greatness.
The BBQ slice also did not fail to impress me. The chicken was cooked just right. The sauce they used had to be unique. Even after being re-heated it still had flavor. Also they opted for the less messy method of making BBQ/Buffalo chicken pies by NOT putting the sauce on last on top of the pizza but rather marinating the chicken in the sauces before adding them to the slice. This is an under appreciated technique and suited them well.
I really have little to no complaints with this place.
